(Healthier) Chocolate Peanut Butter No Bake Cookies

Posted In: Recipes | Sweets/Desserts
It's summertime, and in our house, that means "just say no" to turning on the oven! But that doesn't mean we can't still enjoy a decadent dessert! These "Healthier" Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies are absolutely delicious and would be perfect to bring to a 4th of July Party for everyone to enjoy! Now, I know similar versions of these cookies have been around for a long time. Who has memories of eating them during their childhood? I sure do! I very specifically remember savoring every bite of one of these cookies for d[...]

How is everyone's weekend going? We are having a nice Memorial Day Weekend, hanging out with my whole family at the beach house that my brother and sister-in-law rented for the weekend. I'm not mad about it at all!  I had every intention of posting this recipe on Friday, so that you could get your ducks in a row to make it to enjoy over this holiday weekend. But this week has been all off kilter, getting home late Sunday night from our trip and playing catch-up ever since. Excuses, excuses, right? Well, I figured bett[...]

It feels like we were JUST  in the thick of Christmas celebrations, and yet Easter is already on the horizon! In all honesty, Easter hasn't been much of a "thing" for us in recent years.  I hope that will change once we have little ones in the picture because I can totally get behind easter egg hunts and big baskets stuffed with lots of goodies! I just feel like it is a kid-centered holiday, but in the meantime, we can make due with Mimosas and a big Easter Brunch! It's been a while since I've done any baking, and I[...]

Homemade Almond Butter Cups

It's almost Valentine's Day! Who's got big plans? We certainly do not...but I am totally ok with that! I like the holiday as a fun little reminder to tell the people your loved ones that you, well, love them and as an excuse to enjoy some extra chocolate! It doesn't need to be anything fancy or crazy, but just fun and sweet :) I was strolling down the aisles at Target (dangerous, I know) and was so tempted by some of the delicious looking chocolates and sweets. I mean, heart-shaped candy? Totally almost got me. But I know[...]

(Gluten Free) S’mores Brownie Bars

Happy Monday, friends! We had a lovely weekend around here. Although I am realllly jonesing for some cold winter temperatures (aka soup and stew weather!), I have decided that I will embrace the ridiculously warm temps we are getting here in Southern California. We took the dogs out for a really beautiful walk/hike that was new to us. It's about 2 miles from our house, yet we have never taken advantage of this particular trail. I am so glad we finally did, because we all had such a fun time.  Jack found his new favorite[...]

You guys! Halloween is TOMORROW! To me, that means The Holidays are officially upon us. We will be flipping the calendars to November, and then in the blink of an eye, it will be Christmas! I know that freaks some people out, but this is seriously my favorite time of the year. I just love the cooler temperatures, the excitement in the air, the family gatherings, and the feeling of "togetherness" that the holidays bestow upon us. Anyway, now that the weather has finally cooled off (after a week in the 100's),  all I can t[...]

Perfect Paleo Banana Bread

We have kids in our house! Human kids, not just the K-9 type. Travis's niece and nephew are visiting from Tucson for the weekend, along with his parents. We have been looking forward to seeing them, and since feeding people is my love language, I have been brainstorming kid-friendly meal ideas. On the menu is: Taco night, make your own pizza night, as well as dinner out at my father in-law's favorite burger spot. I also wanted to make sure we had some healthy options on hand for them to grab on their way out the door to S[...]

Chocolate Chip Date and Nut Bites

Chocolate Chip Date and Nut Bites contain only 4 ingredients, making them a quick, easy, and yummy snack or treat! A good friend of ours is just about ready to pop with her second child. She informed me that, apparently, eating 6 dates a day during the end of your pregnancy will lead to an smoother and faster labor. I am all for natural remedies and who am I to argue with a pregnant lady!? All joking aside, a quick Google search informed me that there have been multiple studies that back up this claim, and that Dat[...]

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Baking is one of my favorite things to do when I have some spare time. There is nothing like putting on some tunes and getting lost in creating something delicious! I've done a lot of baking with Almond Flour, Coconut Flour, Arrowroot Powder, etc. I love creating Paleo recipes that I know have wholesome ingredients in them. However, I started seeing this flour alternative  popping up around the web and I had to give it a try! We had people over for a BBQ last weekend so I had the perfect excuse to put on my apron and[...]
