Things I’m Loving Thursday

Happy Thursday! We’ve almost made it through the work week 🙂

This week is going much better for me than last week…last Thursday was my birthday and I was sick as a dog! I still have the lingering effects of my cold, but overall, I feel SO much better. Nothing like a good cold to make you really appreciate your overall health and wellness!

A “Things I’m Loving Thursday” post is something I’ve been thinking about doing for a while now. I just love the idea of rounding up things that are making me happy at the moment and sharing them with you!

It’s a good reminder (for myself) to find joy and happiness in the little things just as much as the big things. Plus, I did my best to make sure that most of the “things” I am sharing will hopefully be useful to you, or at least put a smile on your face!

So without further ado, here is what I am loving lately!

Pet Plate

I’ve got to start my list off with a bang, because I am just over the top excited about this one. A couple of weeks ago, Pet Plate sent me a box filled their wet dog food for us (and by us, I mean Jack and Macey) to sample.

Anyone that knows us knows we are a little (ok maybe a lot) over the top dog owners. I have my mom check on them every day while I’m at work (she loves doing it, so it’s fine), I make them shredded beef in the crock pot twice a week, and they get walked every.single.day. Those are just the bare minimum requirements.

With that being said, it is really important that my dogs are eating highly nutritious food (and treats!) without any crappy fillers in it. I believe in the importance of nutrition for overall health when it comes to humans, so I can’t just shut it off when it comes to my beloved doggies.

Pet Plate offers “Human Quality” dog food, with an ingredient list that would be acceptable to the harshest critic! (I’ve even heard of humans actually trying it, but I couldn’t quite go that far.)

I was also excited about trying Pet Plate because Macey has had some itchy skin issues in the past (hence why I make them shredded beef-I’ve heard that some dogs are allergic to chicken). Pet Plate allows you to choose between chicken, beef, and lamb!

As much as I would LOVE to feed our dogs solely this “real food” beef stew, they are just too big and would require an entire container each at every meal. While Pet Plate has some great offers to keep the prices reasonable, I just can’t swing that, and we would be needing a delivery 2x/week! So, fortunately, the website walks you through the different ordering options, and we went with the “topper plan.”

The results…

I would have been happy enough just to get a break from worrying about making sure I had enough shredded beef on hand…

But it turns out that on top of that, the dogs absolutely LOVE their new food! They aren’t very picky to being with, but they will often leave 1/2-1/4 of their dry food behind. They have not left one crumb in their bowls since we started serving Pet Plate.

One morning, I had forgotten to defrost a container of food the night before and tried feeding them just dry kibble…they literally didn’t even take one bite. My point is, that even though we are using the “topper plan”, it is still enough to get them to eat their whole meal. This would be a GREAT option for an older dog or a picky eater.

Here’s the scoop and why I am SO excited to share about this with ya’ll.

Pet Plate is offering my readers 25% off their first order when you go through this link and enter OURFINEDAY25 at checkout. Even better, they are currently running a separate 25% off deal on their site for first-timers, and you get to add that on as well. So in total (math wiz over here…), you get 50% off your first order!

I know this sounds a little “salesy” and I NEVER want to come off that way, but it’s just such a great product for such a great price! If you have been thinking about changing up your dog food (or just want an option that is delivered to your door!!!) this is the time to do it 🙂

Wander Life Coconut Coffee Creamer

I finally got around to trying this new dairy-free, travel-friendly coffee creamer that Wander Life sent me, and it was awesome!

I was so impressed with how well a powder was able to foam up when blended!

They offer a bunch of different flavors, and some that are sweetened, some that are not. (The unsweetened are Whole30 approved).

I will definitely be stocking up because they are so great for travel or if I ever run out of the canned coconut milk I usually put in my coffee!

(You will get 10% off your order if you use the code: “Instalove” at checkout 🙂 )

New Ceramic Frying Pans

I got an Amazon Gift Card for my birthday, and I decided to use it to purchase new ceramic frying pans. My mother-in-law got us a set for Christmas a couple of years ago, and we loved them, but they were waring out.

I love the teal color of these and they are AWESOME for making my Paleo tortillas-no stick whatsoever!

Birthday Flowers

My sister is the BEST at sending flowers! I love that she used a local small business (The Social Flower) to send flowers on my birthday. They were beautiful and such a great gift to receive when I was feeling so crummy last week. Even better…chatting with her on the phone making plans to see each other over the summer!

Our Garden

I’ve been posting about this on Instagram/Facebook, and I know I sound like a major “bragger” but our summer garden is killin’ it so far this season! I am only making such a big deal about it because I have NEVER been able to grown anything. We now have more lettuce and zucchini than we know what to do with, and the cucumbers, tomatoes, cauliflower, peppers, and more are not far behind.

You can see the garden’s transition from less than a month ago to now!

We takin’ over!

In all honesty, 99% of the credit goes to Travis, but I did help fill our boxes with dirt back in April, so I will take a little credit! I think they are just happy in their homes and getting a good amount of sun and water. Hopefully, we can keep it up throughout the summer!

Our New Sitting Area

These relatively small purchases have made us so incredibly happy! We’ve lived in our house for over 2 years now and never set up a proper sitting area…until last weekend! And we instantly wondered what took us so long.

Travis decided to use his birthday Home Depot gift card on these chairs and side table, and then I found the rug at Target. We are LOVING having a comfy little sitting area to drink our morning coffee and take in the view of our (aforementioned) garden! Again, it’s the little things 🙂

It’s so nice to take a minute to think about the good things, big and small, happening in life right now. I think I’ll try this more often! 😉
